fiberglassFiberglass Repair:

Few things are more disheartening than staring at the fuzzy edge of broken fiberglass. However, the ability to repair fiberglass is one of its best characteristics. The most horrifying hole in a fiberglass hull is quickly healed with a bit of glass fabric, a supply of resin, and equal parts skill and care. And the repair is less patch than graft- new piece of skin indistinguishable from the old.

Has your RV lost that shine it had when you bought it?  WE CAN FIX THAT!  For RV which have been oxidized and have some fading or dullness, waxes and polishes may restore the shine but often don’t maintain it for more than a month or so. If it isn’t shiny at this point, it’s because the clean gel coat surface is pitted and is diffracting the light instead of reflecting it. To prove this, just apply some water to the surface and see if it becomes shiny. If so, you then need to apply something which will fill in the pores and maintain the shine. This is because the gel-coat surface has microscopic pits and crevices in it from the oxidation, even after you have rubbed off the oxidized layer. When you apply wax over the surface, the wax is too heavy to penetrate into the pits and crevices. This is why oxidized boats usually never shine like they did when new, and more importantly, why wax doesn’t last long. Because air is trapped in the holes and crevices under the wax, the gel coat can oxidize underneath the wax! There really isn’t any secret to cleaning faded or dull fiberglass, you just need some elbow grease and something to remove the oxidation. By filling in the microscopic pits you can restore the shine.

We offer so much at Dreamcatcher RV Repair, but we do NOT offer chasis services.  We specialize in body work and repairing cosmetic RV issues.  However, if we inspect the project and find that your RV requires this we do have vendors we can recommend.
